Where does the dog training take place?I come to you and conduct the sessions with you and your dog in the privacy of your own home. You can view all of my services here. I do not offer classes, workshops, or board and train services.

What method of dog training do you use?My training methods consist of a combination of classical and operant conditioning using positive reinforcement. You can learn more about me here. I follow the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) Effective Behavior Intervention Policy.

What are your qualifications?I earned a CDTK (Certified in Dog Training Knowledge) through the Master Course, as well as a Certificate in Dog Training and Behavior through the Core Skills Course at Catch Canine Trainers Academy. I completed the Aggression in Dogs Master Course with Michael Shikashio - Certificate of Completion in August 2020 from AggressiveDog.com. CONTINUING EDUCATION: I have completed over 40 continuing education courses since 2019 on dog training and behavior. I take one continuing education course on dog training and behavior every other month. ​ In addition, I have written three best-selling puppy training books and am the host of the Puppy Talk Podcast.

Can you help with dog behavior issues?I can work with minor behavior issues such as jumping, play biting, chewing, and barking as part of dog obedience training. Serious behavior issues related to fear, anxiety, stress, or aggression will need behavior modification.

What are your rates?All rates, programs, and training are customized for your dog and goals. Please use our contact form for your custom rate quote and availability to train your dog. After I receive the form, I will call you to gather more information and consult with you on the best training options for your dog or puppy.

Do you work with all dogs?I work with most breeds of dogs and puppies. Occasionally, there are dogs we will be unable to train, due to aggression or training requests beyond our scope of practice. During a brief phone conversation, I will know if your dog is a good fit for my dog obedience training, and I will be upfront and honest about the recommended steps to train your dog.

How long are the sessions?The initial consultation and training session is 90 minutes, and each dog training or behavior modification session is 60 minutes.

Do you offer a guarantee?It is unethical to offer a guarantee of your dog's behavior because you can NEVER guarantee the behavior of any living being. We can't even predict our own behavior with 100% accuracy in any given situation, let alone an animal of another species. As a dog trainer in good standing, I willingly pledge NOT to offer a guarantee of your dog's behavior. Rest assured, I am committed to providing professional customer service, punctuality, and dedicated support to help you and your dog achieve your training goals. I will always be accessible to answer any questions after the training is complete, whether by phone or email.

What areas do you serve?I service the Huntsville, AL area and surrounding cities within a 25-mile radius of my home. Cities include Huntsville, Madison, Harvest, Owens Cross Roads, and Athens. Please contact me for availability, rates, and other locations served.

What is your refund policy?All sessions are non-refundable. All training packages are non-refundable if not used. Sessions do not expire.

What is your cancellation policy?If Client fails to give at least 24 hours cancellation notice, or is not present at time of scheduled appointment, session fees are still due. For a package deal, the session will still be counted as one session.

Are you a licensed and insured business?Yes! Top Gun Dog Training, LLC is listened to do business by the State of AL and the city of Huntsville. In addition, we have dog training liability insurance through https://www.petcareins.com.
